Pain Rebate (take 3!)

ACE Hardware is offering a paint rebate now too!! If you missed the first two rebates, maybe you can grab this one since it is so close to home. Also, it looks like you can take part in this until June 21.

Save $5 after main-in rebate on ROYAL PAINT or ROYAL Finest PAINT (apparently has scotch guard in it, which is so cool).

You can do this one up to 10 times.

Get your rebate form IN THE STORE.

CVS 06/06-06/12

Well, I checked out the CVS deals for this week and could not come up with much. There is one deal worth mentioning, even though I will not do it because I do not like Dove deodorant.

**UPDATE** READ THIS AGAIN AS I CHANGED ONE COUPON FROM THE ORIGINAL POST

If you are going to do this deal, make sure to swipe your CVS card at the red machine first. Many people are getting a $5/$15 CVS coupon. So, ring up the deodorant, hand the cashier the $5/$15 FIRST, then your other coupons.

If you buy $15 in Dove, Caress, Degree or Lever products, get $5 ECB

Buy 6 Dove Deodorants - $15
Use 6 $2 Dove printable coupons
Or $3/2 Dove or Degree coupon
Pay $3, Get $5 ECB
Final Price: $2 Moneymaker

hopefully my first coupon link works this time (it is from Bricks, which I have had trouble linking to in the past). If it does not work, go to southernsavers.com, she has a good link. The second coupon link directs you to a website, which should work. Also, you may have to buy something else as a filler so the chashier does not "owe" you money at the end of this.

Anyway, that's it for the CVS this week. I will let you know if something else pops up.

$2/1 PAMPERS wipes coupon

I apologize for not posting much last week, but there were not many deals worth sharing. Having 2 sick kids might have played a part too. :)

In today's newspaper there should be a $2/1 Pampers wipes coupon, 60 ct or larger, meaning FREE wipes at Target or Walmart and cheap wipes at other stores. This is a time to ask friends/family if they are going to use their coupon.

WalMart prices their Pampers wipes tubs at $1.97 so you might even make 0.03 on the deal. I have mentioned before that I am not a big fan of buying coupons, but there are times to make an exception. If you are mowing through the wipes you might consider buying some of these coupons on Ebay. I checked out the auctions today and there are a TON of people out there selling these. Even if you had to pay 0.50 per coupon (make sure to factor in shipping) it would still be a good deal. If you buy these wipes anyway, you might be willing to pay more, but that is my personal limit.

Gillette ProGlide offer - again

If you missed out on the last free razor I told you about, here is another chance. Go to ProGlide's YouTube site for one of 20,000 free razors. We already got one, but Nathan hasn't tried it yet.

Gillette is trying to give one to everyone in the U.S.

Bring on the freebies.

Recipe to Make Your Own Wipes

BABY WIPES
Cut Bounty (reg. roll) in half and pull out cardboard.
In 1.4 liter cylinder container mix:
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 T. baby shampoo
3/4 T. baby oil

Push 1/2 roll in and put lid on. Turn upside down for 5 min. to saturate.

Tips:
**Do NOT try generic paper towels -- they make a MESS. Bounty is best.
**Only use Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo & oil. Do not use the "baby wash" or generic brands as the smell will not be very nice. I like my babies to smell like babies!

My sister bought these supplies for me when I was pregnant with MaryBeth (7 years ago). I have heard that Rubbermaid does not make this same size container any more so the recipe may need to be "tweaked" to adjust for larger containers & roll sizes.

I have a 1.4 liter (6 c.) cylinder Rubbermaid container & it fits only the regular size rolls of paper towels. There are "large" rolls of paper towels out there now that would fit a larger cylinder container, but I do not have all the specifics for those. I think Jenny Sauder does though (although maybe give her a few days before asking since she just had her newest baby last week). :0)

It is not hard to "tweak" the numbers yourself though either. The original recipe had much more round numbers (2 c. water, 1 T oil etc..), but I thought it was too wet, too soapy or whatever and adjusted the numbers down to make them the way I like them.

One price tip here: Shoot for less than $1/roll of the Bounty.

Having A Baby??

I have had great luck with freebies and coupons to get a lot of my baby supplies for either free or for pennies on the dollar. I have been wanting to share this post for a while, so FINALLY got to it today. If you are pregnant or have a baby in your house I really recommend looking in to these websites to help cut costs with your little one.

As soon as I find out I'm pregnant, I sign up for Similac's Strong Mom's program and Enfamil's Family Beginnings program. They send out fantastic freebies and coupons for about 18 months. I also start checking out WalMart's website as they offer formula samples pretty often too. Currently there is not a sample on WalMart's sample site, but I would bookmark it and check back often. When you sign up through WalMart it takes a few weeks to receive the sample, but as soon as you receive it, you can sign up for another one if they're still offering it.
Then shortly before or after the baby is born I start looking in to Gerber, Beech-Nut's Let's Grow and other baby food retailers to see if they have programs to sign up for offering freebies or coupons to help with cost there too. Watching for sales and coupons on diapers throughout your pregnancy will make life a lot easier when the baby comes too.

When Marcus was born I had enough diapers stockpiled to last his first year -- it is so great to just go downstairs to my own "store" when he is out of diapers instead of loading up everyone to go out and buy them (at full price too!). By the time he was 2 months old I had all the baby food he was going to need and I still have not had to buy formula for him (now 11 mos old). Now I have nursed my babies for 6-11 months, which makes a HUGE difference, but they still get formula with babysitters and after I wean them, so it's nice to have on hand.

A few "tips":
1. Formula. I signed up both Nathan & I for Enfamil & Similac's programs, so we get double the coupons & samples.
2. Regarding the diaper & baby food, print or cut the coupons and then keep your eyes peeled for sales. When you pair a coupon with a sale is when you save the big bucks. I never paid more than $2.50/pk for Marcus's diapers and got all his baby food for free.
3. Beech-Nut. That is the baby food Marcus ate. Shortly after I signed up for their program they e-mailed me a high value coupon ($1/3 jars)in PDF form so I printed to my heart's content. About 2 days later Kroger had Beech-Nut baby food on sale for 0.25/jar or 0.40/jar depending on which store I went to. They have it on sale for 0.40/jar pretty often and paired with a good coupon makes for VERY inexpensive baby food. I made all of MaryBeth's baby food, but I couldn't make it that cheap!
4. Wipes. I make my own wipes unless I can get them for 0.50/container or less. This has been a huge money-saver and I actually like them better than most store-bought wipes (including Huggies & Pampers). It is so easy to do & the older kids really like to help me making it a fun project.

I will share the wipes recipe on another post because this one is already pretty long. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions -- I love this kind of stuff (obviously!!).

FREE Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor

GO HERE to claim a free ProGlide Razor for the man in your family. It comes with some high value coupons for later too. This razor has not been released in stores yet, but will be available after June 1. My guess is that CVS and/or Walgreens will have it free or almost free shortly after it arrives so paired with the coupon offered in this freebie should make for some free and better-than-free razors.

When I signed up there were only 265 razors left on that site.

If they are out when you go there, go to Moneysavingmom.com. She had a list of 29 different sites that were offering the free razors today!!
